I am Jason Michael, the owner and boss of JJM Fitness, which I set up in 2007 not long after I qualified as a personal trainer.
Sport and fitness have been a passion of mine since I was a young boy. I remember during the school holidays organising a ‘super stars’ event, like the TV show, for my friends, and coaching my 5 a side football team. That passion only got stronger over the years. Eventually, after 15 years of working in various office jobs, I decided I needed to make a change, and move into fitness as my career.
I started off doing one to one personal training sessions, and working in a health club. I then moved into sports coaching at primary schools. As time has moved on, and the internet and social media have got bigger, I have moved into other areas of fitness. I now run Boot Camp sessions throughout the year, and online coaching, which was unheard of back when I started.
As well as having a Diploma in Personal Training, I specialise in running coaching. This was my sport as a teenager, and even before I wanted to work in fitness, I knew I wanted to be a running coach one day. I am a level 2 athletics coach through UK athletics (now British Athletics) and first qualified in 2003.
Growing up in the 80’s, I ran for Westbury Harriers and have the best memories. I went on to compete at a good level, representing my county a number of times and even holding a UK age record with my team mates for the 3 x 800m. Now I am
back at the club, coaching the children, and hoping they are making memories to last a life time, like I did.
As I have said before, I am very passionate about fitness and helping people reach their own personal goals. I find it very satisfying and rewarding when a client tells me how much weight they have lost, how far or quick they can now run, or to see someone progress at Boot Camp.
I hope my passion for fitness comes across in my training sessions, which I aim to keep varied. This I find makes exercise more enjoyable and fun and helps to keep my clients motivated and focused on reaching their goals.
Thanks,
Jason
